The Flaming Lips x OKC Comets Jersey

Oklahoma City’s baseball and music worlds collide on this limited-edition Local Legends jersey from The Flaming Lips and the OKC Comets. The black baseball silhouette is brought to life with electric pink, blue and yellow detailing, pairing the Comets’ identity with the unmistakably surreal visual language of The Flaming Lips. The back centers on a giant eyeball reimagined as a baseball - a nod to an image that has long been part of Wayne Coyne’s creative universe.  Eyes have appeared throughout his artwork and Flaming Lips stage shows, and most recently became the subject of his illustrated children’s book, I Am an Eye I Don’t Know Why.  Here, the familiar motif becomes a cosmic baseball, surrounded by Flaming Lips and OKC Comets lettering. The front pairs the Comets’ astronaut with classic Flaming Lips lettering, finished with bright blue buttons and hot pink piping.  The sleeves carry the collaboration even further with bink-and-blue striped trim and a Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots-inspired Pink Robot wearing a ballcap and stepping up to the plate with a bat.

The Flaming Lips are an Oklahoma City–born psychedelic rock band formed in Oklahoma City in 1983, known for blending experimental sound, surreal storytelling and spectacular live performances. Led by Wayne Coyne, the band has built a decades-long legacy around fearless creativity and an imaginative world entirely their own. The Oklahoma City Comets are a Minor League Baseball team of the Pacific Coast League and the Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
